Privacy Policy

1. Data we collect

• Account data: name, email address, phone number, date of birth.
• Verification data: National ID, selfie, passport photo, Police Clearance Certificate (companions).
• Booking data: dates, times, locations, event types and notes.
• Payment data: M-Pesa number, masked card details, payout details.
• Safety data: location shared during a booking, check-in responses, SOS events.
• Usage data: device, log and interaction data.

2. Why we use it

• To verify identity and keep the marketplace safe.
• To operate bookings, payments and payouts.
• To respond to safety incidents and disputes.
• To detect and prevent fraud.
• To meet legal obligations under Kenyan law.

3. Sharing

We share only what is necessary: payment processors to take payment, cloud infrastructure providers to host data, and law enforcement where legally required. Verification documents are never shown to other users. A companion sees only your name, verification status and the booking details you submit.

4. Storage and security

Passwords are hashed, sessions use signed tokens, access is role-based, and identity documents are held in private encrypted storage accessible only to authorised verification staff. We keep audit trails and activity logs of administrative access.

5. Retention

Verification documents are retained for as long as the account is active and for up to seven years afterwards where required for legal, tax or safety purposes. Location data from bookings is retained for 90 days unless linked to a safety incident.

6. Your rights

• Request a copy of your data.
• Correct inaccurate data.
• Request deletion of your account and data, subject to legal retention.
• Object to or restrict certain processing.
• Withdraw consent for optional processing such as marketing.
